Sexual Assault can happen to anyone. It is never your fault!
If you are a LGBTQIA survivor of sexual assault, help is available.
Transformative Healing can provide direct services to LGBTQIA survivors of sexual assault in Polk and Johnson counties. All services are FREE and CONFIDENTIAL. You do not have to report your assault to law enforcement in order to receive services.
We recognize that many LGBTQIA survivors of sexual assault may not feel safe accessing help from mainstream service providers, law enforcement, or health care systems because of their gender and/or sexual identities. Please know, you do not have to report your assault to law enforcement in order to receive services. If you live outside our service area, you can still call us. In addition to providing a referral to an agency near you or another culturally specific organization, we also provide co-advocacy with other agencies that may be closer to you.
It can also become overwhelming to know where to begin and/or what the process may look like once you do make that initial contact. Below are a few of the services we could offer (but not limited to) survivors who seek our services:
- Crisis intervention services
- Counseling for survivor & for survivor's loved ones
- Information and referrals
- Accompaniment to doctor's appointments, hospitals, law enforcement, court proceedings etc.
- Legal and medical advocacy
- And much more!
